Dorothy is a printmaker whose work varies in technique and print medium. Most of her pieces are collagraphs, but she also creates monotype, woodblock, lino-cut, and collage prints. Dorothy’s art and themes centre around nature, involving scenery from her time living in Northern Alberta, the lower mainland, and here on Vancouver Island. Her main focus is on promoting printmaking around the central island by welcoming both established artists and beginners alike to try printmaking. Dorothy makes this accessible by encouraging crossover between artistic mediums and disciplines. Dorothy’s passion for printmaking and artistry comes across in her work as she strives to make every piece come alive and speak with its own voice.In her own words: “My goal as an artist is to showcase the technique of printmaking both in the community and at large. I use strictly non-toxic inks and materials as I am a firm believer in using safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly materials in my work.”
