Karen Gaetz-Denman

Karen was born and raised in Alberta, where she learned to love wildlife. Married at 20, they moved to Malta for a year. Upon returning they bought an acreage south-east of Edmonton. They had 4 children who Karen did many paintings of. Karen was a member of (FCA) Nanaimo chapter of The Federation of Canadian Artists as well as The Calgary Sketch Club, and on the board of The Muttart Gallery. At this time Karen had won many awards for her art, as well as teaching painting. The family moved to the U.K in1997, where Karen was on the board of TWASI The Wildlife Art Society International. She continued to win awards and her teaching. They owned a pub in Ramsgate, Kent which they sold in September 2019. 2019 brought Karen home to Canada. She settled in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island which she had loved since childhood. She is now a member of The Nanaimo group of Artists and the Mid Island Art group. Karen loves to paint in oils, acrylics, watercolours and pastels.

I recentlly moved bacck to Canada from the U.K.  I am loving the island life. The beauty that surrounds inspires me to paint.  I am hoping to build up a following.
