Ann Antonides is a young "self-taught " artist. She is a retired music teacher and choral conductor who started painting during the isolation of the pandemic.
Initially, Ann started painting by following Betty Franks Abstract Art videos. Then, desiring to hone her skills she followed UVN landscape videos. She also attended workshops with Susan Woolgar, Michelle Miller and Mike Svob. All of these influences have helped Ann in her artistic development.
Ann has exhibited at various shows with the Cowichan Valley Arts Council Gallery. Driven to Abstraction in January 2023 was her last show. She also exhibited and sold paintings in the online Squarefoot Show of June 2022 - Life is a Beach. Her work is also on display at Odyssey's End in Cowichan Bay.
StatementPlaying with colour is pure delight. The variety of mood colors can create is my inspiration. I like to use dynamic contrasts to craft a harmonious painting.
