Sarah Sabo has always loved to create and explore new artistic avenues. She has a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Theatre with a minor in Creative Writing, and she finished her Master's in Dramatherapy back in 2019. Though her educational focus was mainly on Theatre, she always returned to doodles and drawings for comfort and calm. Sarah became more serious in her role as a visual artist over the last five years. While doing her Masters in Dramatherapy, she began to connect to her drawings and paintings in a new way. She was learning to be a healer but also she was healing herself through creating art. Art is a way for Sarah to explore difficult psychological concepts and the many complex emotions that come with being human. She would love to share her images with the world.
StatementFor me, creating art is about focusing on the process rather than the outcome. The images I create come from within and they come out best when I don't think too hard about them. The subjects of my paintings and drawings are mainly of internal representations rather than the outer world. My art helps me to see themes I may struggle with from a new angle; with new eyes and new thoughts. From a young age, I have struggled with my mental health. Art has always been a way to connect with myself, when a part of me is lost. Through the fog I find my pencil or my brush, and I am able to work through it, and to understand myself a little bit better. The subjects of my paintings and drawings are mainly of internal representations rather than the outer world. I hope my art will help to heal others as it continues to help heal me.
