An award winning artist, Sharon does both abstract and representational acrylic work as well as work that she calls "bridging the gap". She has had solo shows at Gallery Splash (2022), Emporium Gallery, and Art Gallery of the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre (2019), Chapel Gallery (2018), Eclectic Gallery (2013) in Victoria, Gallery 223 (2012) in Nanaimo, and the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria twice (2009, 2012). In the warmer months, she can be found painting en plein air with various art groups. Sharon has been in many group shows, exhibiting in Kelowna, Kamloops, Vancouver, Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Victoria, Taiwan and Shanghai. She is currently represented by Aquamaris Gallery in Duncan, and The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. 2018 was Sharon's sixth year painting at the Inn at Laurel Point as an artist-in-residence, and since then, she has been honoured by having one of the conference rooms there named after her (Stone room), an honour she shares with three aboriginal artists whose names are on other conference rooms. She will be displaying her work at the hotel from February 4 - March 4, 2023.
StatementI was struck by the beauty and power of this dominating structure in Sooke. In painting it, I thought about what the structure was trying to tell me. Hence the name, "You Can't Miss Me".
