"Que Dificil es Crecer"

"Que DIficil es Crecer" in english translated is "How hard it is to Grow" Painted with Oil paint using brushes and pallet knives. Growing is hard, I struggle with depression among other mental health issues and wanted to depict the feelings of loneliness and heartbreak that this can bring at times along with a tranquility that comes with knowing growth is happening. I did an underpainting and used blues for the highlights and hues of orange and reds for the shadows for a contrast. I wanted the figure to be painted in a more realism style and the background to be more abstract with the pallet knives to create a n environment fading away and to focus on the subject.
