Beachcombing after the Rain

Vancouver Island has many hidden beaches with public access. "Beachcombing after the Rain" in acrylics on canvas was inspired by one such discovery. The day was wet but not windy, the beach deserted. I knew I had found the next perfect scene to paint. I did a few quick drawings - what is a sketch book if it doesn't get a little wet, took a few photos and savoured the moment. I left with a wonderful feeling of satisfaction knowing I had my next painting complete in my head now to put it on canvas.
