Still Here

As we move through over lives, our experiences are punctuated with sweet moments of elation along with excruciating emotional upset, events that forever leave their mark and colour our perspective. No one comes through completely unscathed. The challenge is to accept what is and step forward to emerge stronger, wiser. . . to embrace what we have become and radiate in our complexity. We are still here.

The background in this piece is created with a monotype process using relief printing of stencils and discarded carved lino plates. The figure is a collagraph plate created with cut paper adhered to heavy card stock cut into the shape of a women, coated in polymer and painted with medium for texture.
