An Old Soul, Girl at the Lemonade Stand

Framed. My young friend tended her lemonade stand at the farmer's market. She had a Mona Lisa smile, hard to read, slightly amused by the busy crowd, curious and calm among the noisy farmer's market. She seemed ageless to me, wiser than her years, wearing a sunhat given to her by her grandmother. I painted her in oil, with the play of light through her summer hat, her pristine white blouse, and mostly, her lovely, thoughtful expression.
