Earth's Sculpture

Earth's Sculpture is a 16 x 16 Acrylic painting with Gel Medium and Crackle Medium on wood. The painting/sculpted work was created to represent the colors, depth, minerals, dynamic energy found in high alpine mountains. This piece comes from the awe experienced in the cliffs where glaciers have receded and tectonic plates have forced mineral infused slate and granite columns to rise, leaving scree scattered about as the cold, icy run off cuts though, carving its way to the valley below.
