Photographed by a friend of mine, Karen McLaughlin. Karen is a silversmith and photographer of wildlife and lives in Nanaimo. When she posted this photograph, I knew I had to paint it. I have taken many photos of Herons myself, but none as beautiful as this one that Karen took. Karen has given me permission to paint it as well as enter it in the Fine Art show.
