Coastal Isles

This artwork is based off of the landscape around my hometown, Port Alice. Many days our family would wake up early and get in the boat for a day of fishing out on the West Coast. Memories of exploring the surrounding islands, and coastlines has to this day captured my imagination. Each tree is unique in its own right, but collectively they form sprawling forests that cloak the land around us. When making a landscape collage I replicate this by painting and cutting each tree by hand. This ensures that no two will ever be alike.
